Summary:
After defeating the king, Paedyn Gray is on the run. Kai Azer is ordered to hunt her down and bring her back to Kitt Azer, the new king. As Paedyn and Kai experience close calls, they learn more about each, their desires, and unknown secrets.
Qualities:
Prose: The novel uses lyrical language that is attractive, comical, and pleasing to read. The dialogue and descriptions aid the progress of the story, the characters emotions, and the overall plot.
Character Development: The character development between Paedyn and Kai, as well as Kitt is thoughtful and to the point. Certain events, desires, and emotions alter the characters and their development.
World Building: As the story progresses between Paedyn and Kai, the world building significantly changes, altering the characters decisions and purpose. However, as wide as the world building seems, I think the plot would have been more successful if the characters were not constantly going back and forth and somehow always finding each other despite their distance apart.
Recommendation:
As a continuation to the first novel, Powerless, I recommend this book to further understand why Paedyn and Kai are attracted to each other. I think this book does a great job at diving deeper into the characters minds, as well as their wants and desires as they navigate their budding relationship. This book is also fast paced, easy to read and packed with secrets, desires, adventure, and thrill.
